The Passion of the Christ actor Jim Caviezel delivered a bizarre speech to a QAnon conference, repeating word-for-word Mel Gibsons famous battle cry from Braveheart.

Mr Caviezel was speaking at the For God & Country: Patriot Double Down convention held in Las Vegas, where he claimed there was an ongoing religious war between Satan and liberal values.

He mimicked the fiery speech given by Mr Gibsons character William Wallace before a battle with the English in his 1995 film Braveheart, including the famous line you can take our lives, but you can never take our freedom.

The 53-year-old went on share familiar QAnon themes about child sex trafficking and religion.

We must fight for that authentic freedom and live my friends. By God, we must live and with the Holy Spirit as your shield and Christ as your sword may you join Saint Michael and all the other angels in defending God and sending Lucifer and his henchmen straight back to hell where they belong, he told the audience.

Jim Caviezel Was Struck By Lightning While Filming The Passion Of The Christ

Caviezels work on The Passion of the Christ was grueling not only because of the brutal content he had to depict but also because of some bizarre accidents on the set. As The Guardian reports, the crew was filming in a remote location a few hours from Rome when Caviezel was struck by lightning. Amazingly, it was reported as the second time he was struck on the set.

According to The Words, Caviezel reflected on the harrowing experience:

About four seconds before it happened it was quiet, and then it was like someone slapped my ears. I had seven or eight seconds of, like, a pink, fuzzy color, and people started screaming. They said I had fire on the left side of my head and light around my body. All I can tell you is that I looked like I went to Don Kings hairstylist.

The Mel Gibson-directed blockbuster was nominated for three Academy Awards when it was released in 2004, and grossed over $600 million. However, Caviezel revealed that there was nothing glamorous about the role.

The 45-year-old actor described his experience on set while speaking to the congregation at the Rock Church in San Diego on Sunday, WND reports.

“The whip went over, and I had a 14-inch gash on my back,” he said of a physically-challenging whipping scene. “I went right down like in a football game when you get the wind knocked out of you. I saw God.”

The walk up Golgotha, the hill where Jesus was crucified, was also emotionally-challenging for Caviezel.

“I felt this evil presence come over me,” he said. “‘You’re a dead man.’ I remember thinking this is the best news I’ve ever had, because I know if I die I’m going to heaven.”

Caviezel also revealed that he was struck by lightning while he was hanging on the cross.

“What people witnessed was an illumination around my body and a fire on the right and left side of my head,” he stated. “And for one moment I was looking at myself from outside my body.

“When I was hit, everybody fell on their face.

“The ground shook and that was the last shot of the movie.”

During his speech at the Rock Church, Caviezel encouraged people to give their lives to Christ.

He also called on those who have had or paid for an abortion to repent.

CBN.comThe DVD of The Passion of The Christ releases Tuesday, August 31, and the media are abuzz once again about this epic drama.

The man who played Jesus in Mel Gibson’s film The Passion of The Christ is no newcomer to the world of film production. Jim Caviezel is a respectable actor with a respectable career. The Count of Monte Cristo, The Thin Red Line, Pay It Forward, and Angel Eyes are just a few of his films. But his role of Jesus may have jeopardized his respectability.

Many moviegoers have been stirred by The Passion of The Christ. But only a select few know what it took to make a film of such great significance. Obviously, Jim Caviezel was one of them. And it wore on him to the point where he was angry and yelling at God.

Caviezel went to great depths to help 700 Club producer Scott Ross understand what it meant to play the crucified Savior.

This is Part II of that interview.

JIM CAVIEZEL: I got into Julliard and then I got this movie with Kevin Costner, it was about ’93 or ’94.

SCOTT ROSS: What was the movie?

JIM CAVIEZEL:Wyatt Earp. A small role, and I played the brother. And then I got a deferment from Julliard, which led me to a role where Mel Gibson saw me, which was TheThin Red Line.

SCOTT ROSS: Good grief.

SCOTT ROSS: It’s been rumored, I don’t know if this is true or not, but as you were filming you were hit with lightning? That’s true?

While getting struck by lightning is certainly a noteworthy trauma, its not the only one that Caviezel faced while filming The Passion of the Christ. In fact, when a list of his supposed injuries from the film went viral on social media, some fans couldnt believe their eyes.

Snopes, however, verified that the list was authentic. Caviezel really did lose 45 pounds for the role and now has a 14-inch scar from an accidental whip injury. He got a dislocated shoulder and suffered from pneumonia and hypothermia from his time on the set.

The filming especially the lightning strikes took such a toll on Caviezel that he ended up needing open-heart surgery after the work wrapped up. As Catholic Courier reports, though, Caviezel says it was all worth it to create a film that showcased the trauma Jesus faced in a realistic setting:

f we had shot that film in a studio, you wouldnt have seen that performance. Was it worth it? Absolutely.

Jim Caviezel Claims The Passion Of The Christ Made Him A Hollywood Outcast

The actor who played Jesus in Mel Gibson’s 2004 blockbuster The Passion of the Christ says he has been shunned by Hollywood since taking the role.

Jim Caviezel was a regular name on cinema hoardings before agreeing to take the lead in the controversial, bloody retelling of Christ’s final days. He headlined the 2002 remake of The Count of Monte Cristo and starred opposite Jennifer Lopez in the 2001 romantic drama Angel Eyes. However, Caviezel told an audience of churchgoers in Orlando, Florida on Saturday that he had “been rejected by my own industry” after choosing to join Gibson’s cast.

Gibson, he said, had initially offered him the role, only to call him back 20 minutes later and beg him not to take it.

“He said, ‘You’ll never work in this town again.’ I told him, ‘We all have to embrace our crosses,'” said Caviezel. He added: “Jesus is as controversial now as he has ever been. Not much has changed in 2,000 years.”

A passionate Christian, Caviezel told the audience at the First Baptist Church of Orlando he had learned to accept that the destruction of his acting career was a price worth paying. “We have to give up our names, our reputations, our lives to speak the truth,” he said. Though he labelled Gibson “a horrible sinner”, he said the actor turned film-maker should not be vilified. “Mel Gibson doesn’t need your judgment, he needs your prayers,” Caviezel said.

It earned $83,848,082 from 4,793 screens at 3,043 theaters in its opening weekend and a total of $125,185,971 since its Wednesday opening, ranking it fourth overall in domestic opening weekend earnings for 2004 as well as the biggest weekend debut for a February release ” rel=”nofollow”> Fifty Shades of Grey was released). The film tied with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King‘s record for having the highest five-day Wednesday opening. Moreover, The Passion of the Christ scored the second biggest opening weekend for any R-rated movie, behind The Matrix Reloaded. It went on to earn $370,782,930 overall in the United States, and remains the highest grossing R-rated film in the domestic market . The film sold an estimated 59,625,500 tickets in the US in its initial theatrical run.

In the Philippines, a majority-Catholic country, the film was released on March 31, 2004, rated PG-13 by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board and endorsed by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines .

In Malaysia, government censors initially banned it completely, but after Christian leaders protested, the restriction was lifted, but only for Christian audiences, allowing them to view the film in specially designated theaters. In Israel, the film was not banned. However, it never received theatrical distribution because no Israeli distributor would market it.

Interview: Jim and Kerri Caviezel, and Mel Gibsons The Passion of the Christ Jim Caviezel, who stars in the most recent Mel Gibsons movie, The Passion of the Christ, has arranged a private presentation of the unfinished version of this movie at The Mothers Village in Medjugorje, on Saturday, December 6th, 2003.

During the same weekend, the film was seen by members from the Vatican Secretariat of State, the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the group that oversees Catholic doctrinal questions. All of them expressed unanimous appreciation and approval of the film.

The interview given to Fr. Mario Knezovic for Radio Mir Medjugorje is the first interview in which Jim and his wife Kerri publicly speak about this movie.

Fr. Mario Knezovic: How did you hear about Medjugorje and what does Medjugorje signify for you?

Kerri Caviezel: I was in seventh grade and our priest showed us a film of the children during an apparition. We were told that it was true. We were from a mixed catholic community mostly Croatians and Italians. My grandmother is a 100% Croatian. It didnt seem hard to believe. I took me 15 years to come. When I came, I knew immediately – from what I was feeling in my heart – that it was real. I havent seen signs or anything, but – I have been a Catholic for my whole life and I had never felt in confession as I felt when I was here. It was a tremendous healing.
