How To Watch Prince Harry And Meghan Markles Oprah Interview
The most talked-about interview of 2021 is airing in the GCC tonight and heres how you can watch it
Prince Harry and Meghan Markles interview with Oprah Winfrey has left the world bewildered after discovering the harsh realities of being a royal.
The tell-all interview marked the royal couples appearance in the public eye for the first time since Meghan announced her pregnancy and the couple refrained from royal duties and seated in the midst of a restful countryside garden, Oprah left no stone unturned.
In a short video posted by CBS, Oprah asks How do you feel about the palace hearing you speak your truth today?
I dont know how they could expect that, after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us, Meghan replies, adding and if that comes with risk of losing things, I mean, theres alot thats been lost already.
However, as many in the region struggled to watch the interview through the American TV broadcaster, it has been announced that the GCC is about to witness a re-telecast tonight.
Here Bazaar shares all the details you need to know on how to watch 2021s most awaited interview yet.
Harry And Meghan Detail Royal Struggles From Discussions Of Baby’s Skin Tone To Suicidal Thoughts
Conversations about “how dark” their baby’s skin tone would be. A rift between Prince Harry and his father so deep that Harry said his father at one point “stopped taking my calls.” And Meghan, Duchess of Sussex saying she “just didn’t want to be alive anymore.”
These were some of the shocking details described by Harry and Meghan in an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey, the first they have given since they stepped away from official royal duties last year. They said they would have stayed had they gotten support from the royal family.
In one of the only lighthearted moments, the couple revealed their second child, expected this summer, will be a girl.
But Harry and Meghan spent most of the discussion trying to give their side of many of the tabloid stories that have circulated about them since they got together, including one about how Meghan had once made her sister-in-law, Catherine, cry.
While they had harsh words for their treatment in the press, the most disturbing parts of the interview centered on how they were treated by members of the royal family. Harry said he had a “really good relationship” with the Queen, but said he was “disappointed” by his father and that, while he loves his brother William “to bits,” they’re on “different paths.”
More portions of the interview aired on Monday exclusively on “CBS This Morning.”

In the 120 second clip of the interview, the former Suits star beamed as she recalled how she would go to auditions on the same Warner Bros. lot as Ellen’s set.
“Meghan was acting that everything was wonderful and so funny and isn’t she sweet and a bit shy. And it’s not going to work really.
“She’s trying to be a really natural ordinary girl. She’s desperate for publicity, desperate for people to watch and see her.
“There’s a saying, ‘people who go to the opening of an envelope’… Meghan will interview anywhere people want her.”
The appearance marks the 19th and final season of the Ellen Show – after the series was hit with accusations from current and former staffers of bullying and racism on the “toxic” set.
Rumours of Ellens years of demanding ways culminated with ex-staff members swapping stories on Twitter – and eventually pushed the company to investigate.
Ellen and Meghan have been friends for years after meeting by chance at a dog shelter in Los Angeles.
Meghan told Ellen in the clip: I would park at Gate 3 and scoot on over, and what was so nice was that the security guards here would always say, Break a leg, we hope you get it! So the drive in today was very different.”
Asked if the security guards recognised her, the mum-of-two replied: I think they probably said it to everybody. Thats how nice they were.

Oprah with Meghan and Harry is a 2021 television special hosted by American media personality Oprah Winfrey, that featured an interview between Winfrey, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. Filmed in Santa Barbara County, California, the interview came after Prince Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step down as working members of the British royal family in January 2020. The interview included discussion of their courtship, wedding, their second child‘s gender , mental health struggles including Meghan’s suicidal thoughts, and a shared sense of abandonment in terms of emotional and financial support. Moreover, Meghan critiqued the British monarchy as an institution, while they both said one or more comments had been made privately to Harry by an unidentified individual within the royal family in relation to the skin color of their then unborn son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. Also discussed was a royal title for Archie, the personal security of the couple, and Harry’s estrangement from his father, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince William. Meghan’s own relationship with her estranged family was also briefly touched upon.

What Has The Reaction Been To The Interview Itself
Washington Post columnist Margaret Sullivan said Oprah Winfrey “proved herself to be the best celebrity interviewer ever”.
“Oprah best displayed her interviewing chops by relentlessly circling back to emotional or newsmaking comments like a heat-seeking missile,” Sullivan wrote in a Perspective column.
“Not much was allowed to simply disappear in a flurry of words, as happens far too often in interviews. Oprah did not let the couple get away with general hints or diplomatic niceties.”
Vox columnist Emily VanDerWerff also praised Oprah’s interview style, saying, “she was the only person who could conduct the Harry and Meghan interview”.
“Oprah excels at creating a friendly, warm atmosphere in which famous people feel as though they can share their innermost thoughts,”VanDerWerff wrote.
“It’s not clear how much the Meghan and Harry interview happened roughly as presented on television, or if it was edited to create a more coherent progression of its subjects thoughts .
“But Oprah’s genius lies less in the overall scope of an interview and more in the micromanagement of individual moments.
“An interview subject can say something shocking, and Oprah is skilled at guiding the exchange so that it plays out to its fullest effect, while giving the subject space to process their thoughts and decide whether they want to share more.”

Flower Girl Dresses Incident
Months after Meghan wed Harry, a widely reported story, damaging to her public image, was published in the British media that she had made her sister-in-law, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, cry in a dispute over flower girl dresses. In the interview, Meghan insisted that the actual incident had seen the opposite occur, with Catherine causing Meghan to cry. She added that ” apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing” after which she “forgave” her, but sources close to the palace told The Times that Meghan had “slammed the door in Kate’s face” when she took a bunch of flowers to Nottingham Cottage to apologize. Another source later told People that “both women were in tears over the incident”.Andrew Morton claimed in the revised version of his book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, that Meghan had gifted Catherine and six of her friends with gold bracelets following the royal wedding, a move that was described as “an elegant peace offering”.

Private Exchange Of Vows
Meghan said that they had in fact married three days before their public wedding, with a private exchange of vows on May 16 in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Harry supported this by commenting “Yeah, just the three of us”. This earlier exchange of vows was not an official religious or legally recognized marriage, both of which require at least two witnesses. Later in March, a spokesperson for the couple confirmed that they merely exchanged “personal vows”, and the private event was neither a “legal” nor “official” service. The couple’s official also shows that they were married on May 19, with Harry’s father and Meghan’s mother as witnesses. The Archbishop of Canterbury also clarified their claim, stating “The legal wedding was on the Saturday . I signed the wedding certificate, which is a legal document, and I would have committed a serious criminal offence if I signed it knowing it was false”. As is customary for clergy, Archbishop Welby refrained from commenting on the nature of any private meetings with the couple, but added he “had a number of private and pastoral meetings with the duke and duchess before the wedding”.

How Did We Get Here

Normal protocol for someone as high up in the royal family as Harry would be to live in the UK forever, as a working member of the royal family — attending hospital openings, museum exhibits, board meetings, playing bingo with pensioners and generally just supporting Queen Elizabeth II in a quiet yet respectful way. Realistically, with his father Charles, brother William, and William and Kate’s three kids all in line to the throne before him, Harry was never going to rule. And as he made clear to Winfrey, he felt unsupported, and even endangered, by family decisions that he felt were not helping his own family.

You may have heard that Meghan and Harry moved first to Canada, then to California in 2020. In February 2021, after a year trial, Buckingham Palace announced the couple would not return as working members of the royal family, through they would remain “much loved.”
And Meghan and Harry have been busy. In 2020, they signed a deal to develop programming for Netflix, and they’ve also signed a deal with Spotify to produce and host their own podcasts. They’re residing in America now, and Americans gonna America. So the Oprah interview, while not something a regular royal would do, fits right in with what a Hollywood celebrity would take on.

Harry Says He Is Disappointed By His Father
In a particularly revealing moment, Harry revealed that he will always love his father, Prince Charles, but he is “disappointed” by him. As for his brother, Prince William, Harry said he “loves him to bits” but “we’re on different paths.”
Harry started out by saying they had never planned to make the Netflix and Spotify deals, but the royal family “literally cut me off financially” in the first quarter of 2020.
He said he thought his mother “saw it coming.”
“I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her going through this process by herself. It’s been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we have each other,” Harry said.
As for the rest of his family, he said he has spoken more this year to his grandmother than he has “in many, many years” and they have a “really good relationship.”
When asked about his father, Harry paused. He said his father is now taking his calls, but “there’s a lot to work through there.”
Harry said “much will continue” to be said about his relationship with William.
“As I’ve said before, I love William to bits he’s my brother and we’ve been through hell together and we have a shared experience but we’re on different paths,” Harry said.
Harry said he “never going to share” more about the conversation about Archie’s skin tone, only saying it was “right at the beginning.”
