The Duke of Cambridge has hailed an unprecedented agreement signed by the emergency services to adopt a package of mental health support for their workers.
William said the development will send a powerful message to all emergency responders that the issue of mental health will remain a firm priority.
Speaking during the Royal Foundations Emergency Services Mental Health Symposium in London, the duke gave a personal account of the mental health issues he faced when flying helicopters for RAF Search and Rescue and later the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
He described how he would return to Kate and their children with the stresses and strains of the day weighing on my mind, and wanting to avoid burdening my family with what I had seen.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid and Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick joined emergency services leaders, frontline workers, policymakers and academics at the event to hear William announce that senior leaders, representing national bodies of the emergency services community, have signed the Mental Health at Work Commitment.
The couple moved into their home last summer during Covid lockdowns.

What Time Is The Meghan Markle Interview
The interview is set to air in the US on Thursday November 18, with very little time between the releases of the shock teaser and the main segment.
The conversation will be broadcast in America on CBS at 3pm Eastern Time. The interview is expected to see the Duchess reminisce about her time before she was involved with the royal family. In the teaser Meghan can be heard saying: “I would park on gate three and I would scoot on over and the security guards here would always say ‘break a leg, I hope you get it’.
“So driving today was very different.”
She can also be heard speaking about her old car, saying: I had this very, very old Ford Explorer Sport, and at a certain point the key stopped working on the drivers side.

They added: “The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma. She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.”

This interview is two hours long, which means you’re going to want to have enough snacks and plan your bathroom breaks. The first half of the interview was a one-on-one with Meghan and Oprah, and Harry popped in for the second half.

There Wasn’t A Lot Of Anxiety About Meeting The Queen Meghan Says
Oprah asked Meghan about meeting Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Meghan said “there wasn’t a lot of anxiety about meeting the queen,” but she said Harry asked her in the car on the way there “do you know how to curtsy?”
Meghan said she thought “genuinely that is what happens outside” but not “inside,” or within the family.
“I thought that was part of the fanfare, I didn’t think that was what happened inside,” Meghan said. “I thought, this is your grandmother.”
She said Harry reminded her his grandmother is the queen. Oprah asked if she googled it, but Meghan laughed “we were in the car.” She said they practiced and Fergie, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, ran out and said “are you ready? Do you know how curtsy?”
“Apparently I did a very deep courtesy I don’t remember it,” Meghan said. “It was lovely and easy and thank god I hadn’t known a lot about the family I would have been so in my head about it”
Meghan said that growing up in Los Angeles, she was used to seeing celebrities, but she realized “this is a whole different ballgame.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen ITV over the BBC to broadcast a special Christmas carol concert after the corporation screened a controversial royal documentary, it has been reported.
The Westminster Abbey event was due to be hosted by the BBC, the Sun newspaper reported, but it quoted a source who claimed the plans were switched to ITV after a row over the programme which examined William and the Duke of Sussex’s relationship with the media.
Kate is reportedly hosting the programme and there is speculation that the couple’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, may feature in the show.
The BBC has been criticised by the royal households for giving credibility to “overblown and unfounded claims” in the documentary.

According to Meghan, she was silenced during her time as a senior official of the royal family.
In a quiet moment with Oprah, Meghan revealed she was under the belief that in exchange for not commenting on her life, she would be protected, something she found out was not true.
Meghan said it was important to make a distinction between some members of the royal family and the administration that runs the family. For instance, she said the Queen had always been wonderful to her, even going so far as to share a blanket with her during their first press tour.
However, she was forced to stay at home for fear of “oversaturation,” something that she likened to being in COVID-19 lockdown.
“It’s nothing like what it looks like,” she said.

The first episode of The Princes And The Press, presented by Amol Rajan, aired earlier this week and included suggestions that negative stories about the Duchess of Sussex were leaked by courtiers and there was a competitiveness between households.
