THE Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, sat down with broadcasting legend Oprah Winfrey for an intimate two-hour discussion.
It was the first time Meghan had done a major network interview since the she and Prince Harry gave up their senior royal titles and moved to California.

Fronting The Telegraphs Royal Insight series, royal expert Camilla Tominey said William and Kate know that George has his destiny planned out.
However, the couple are eager to ensure they get the balance right with their two youngest children.
Instead of working as full-time royals, the expert suggested Charlotte and Louis may be encouraged to forge a career path like Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have.
She claimed: dont want history to repeat itself and Prince Louis seem like a royal hanger-on and go down the Duke of York path.

Oprah’s headline-making interview of American-born Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and her husband, Prince Harry, was nothing less than explosive, and it continues to reverberate days later.
In the Sunday interview, Meghan said she endured “constant” suicidal thoughts and that no one in the palace would help her. She and Harry said a royal family member expressed concern about how dark baby Archie’s skin color might be. Harry said his father, Prince Charles, wouldn’t take his phone calls for a while, and cut him off from royal money. The two said the palace cut them off from royal protection despite death threats, some based on Meghan being biracial. It was a grim two-hour recitation that sent “American Twitter” raring to fight “British Twitter” after it was over.

What Happened During The Interview
During the two-hour sit-down, Meghan and Harry spoke at length about their experience as working members of the royal family, in which race, mental health, and many more issues were raised. They also discussed the harsh treatment they faced not only by the British tabloids but from members of ‘The Firm’ itself.
Among the most shocking allegations was that there were concerns and conversations about how dark their child’s skin might be from an unknown member of the family. Meghan went on to claim “They were saying they didn’t want him to be a prince or princess, which would be different from protocol, and that he wasn’t going to receive security.”
Meghan also revealed that during her time as a working royal, she experienced suicidal thoughts and sought help from palace HR, but was ignored.
“I was told that I couldn’t , that it wouldn’t be good for the institution,” Meghan told Oprah.

During the second half of the interview, Harry joined Meghan, revealing that he felt trapped and didnt see a way out of royal life, until his marriage to Meghan. Without question she saved me, he said.
In another segment, Harry claimed that his “biggest concern was history repeating itself,” referring to his late mother, Princess Diana, who was notably hounded by the British press before being killed in a car crash in 1997, after her vehicle was chased by paparazzi.

Couples Want Their Own Archie
Archie came into the top 10 boys name for the first time at number nine, pushing out the name Charlie, which has held a spot in the top 10 since 2005, the Office of National Statistics says.
The name Archie, appears to have grown popular due to its royal links, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle naming their first-born son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, back in May 2019.
The name Harry took eighth place respectively and has been in the top 10 list for more than 20 years.
George took second place in the list of names, and has been a consistently popular name since 2013, when Prince George was born.
The Duchess of Sussex, 40, wrote a lengthy plea to two Democratic lawmakers in Washington DC on Thursday in which she advocated for paid family leave.
But now incensed politicians have hit back at Megan for daring to intervene in US politics even calling on the Queen to strip the royal of her titles.
In a rant to the Mail Online, Republican Jason Smith, who represents Missouri, said: Ms. Markles latest interference in U.S. politics reignites the question in my mind as to why the Royal Family does not simply strip her and Harry officially of their titles, particularly since she insists on sending this under the pretence of being the Duchess of Sussex.
Royal experts had previously called her letter, addressed to Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, a first try for the Duchess to move into politics.
I Never Looked Up My Husband Online Meghan Says
In the opening minutes of her exclusive interview with Oprah, Meghan said that she never looked up information about Prince Harry before she got married. While she knew about the royals, discussion of the monarchy wasn’t something that was a part of the conversation when Meghan was growing up.
“I went into it naively,” Meghan told Oprah.
According to Meghan, her mother even asked if her late mother-in-law, Diana, had done an exclusive interview. She says she now knows about Diana’s famous interviews, but she didn’t specify any.
But Meghan said her lack of research was because Prince Harry was telling her everything she needed to know.
She also expressed gratitude that she hadn’t researched the family more as it helped her get rid of nerves before her first interactions with the Queen and other members of the royal family.

I Just Didn’t Want To Be Alive Anymore Meghan Revealed
In a heartbreaking moment, Meghan revealed that she was having “methodical” thoughts about suicide while she was in the royal family.
“That was a very clear and real and frightening thought,” Meghan said. “I couldn’t be left alone.”
According to Meghan, she went to the “Institution,” meaning several senior officials, to receive help for her suicidal thoughts, or to be checked into a hospital, but she was told it wouldn’t be good for optics. After being rebuffed, Meghan said she reached out to one of Princess Diana’s best friends, but continued to have those thoughts, which she called a breaking point.
She also described feeling captive, as her license, passport, and credit cards were taken after her wedding and were unavailable to her.
Clearly emotional, the Duchess said her life in the palace was an example of why people should be kind, since you never know what people are going through “behind closed doors.”

The Interview Was Nearly Two Hours Long
Originally slated to be an hour-and-a-half, the length of the primetime special was extended to two hours. After all, there was a lot to cover.
The interview consisted of two sections. First, Oprah had a one-on-one chat with Meghan, discussing everything from her expectations of life as royal, her son’s title , and her relationship with Kate Middleton. She also opened up about experiencing thoughts about suicide.
On his end, Harry touched on the connection he feels with his mother, Princess Diana, who also left the royal family after her divorce from Prince Charles. “I can’t imagine what it must have been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago. It has been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we have each other,” he said. “In the months when I was pregnant, all around the same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of he won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” Meghan said.
