A relationship mainly connects parent and child tables. In a data model, there are three types of critical relationships:

Because the foreign key forms part of the primary key, they are referred to as identifying keys. There can’t be a child object if there isn’t a parent object.

Self-Recursive: In this case, a single column links to a table’s primary key. This relationship exists between different column objects belonging to a similar entity.
