    Did it help you?

Harry: I mean, to be honest with you, I think I’ve put in so much work over the years that actually I didn’t need I probably could have done with it at the beginning. But it was an interesting process to go through, which at the end of it I was like, “Wow, I’m successfully on my way to healing to the point of where I didn’t need it as much during the series as I probably did right at the beginning.” And that’s the message that I want other people to understand, which is: Prevention, and proactive support, and help and focus on your own mental fitness is absolutely key to that resilience.

Oprah, last word to you. I asked you at the beginning what you hope people will take away from this. What are you going to take away? Have you learned something from this project that will change the way you interview people when they’re on your couch in future?

Oprah: Well that question of “What happened to you?” is a part of my resonant spirit now. I use the information that I learned from the process of doing this series and all of the multiple stories that you get to see on Apple TV+ and some that hit the cutting room floor to understand that empathy and compassion for other people’s stories, which I’ve always had. But I learned so much about schizophrenia I learned so much about PTSD. So my process of understanding people and being more empathetic and open to their vulnerabilities will fuel the rest of the work that I do.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to open up about their decision to step back as senior members of the Royal Family in an interview with US chat show host Oprah Winfrey.

The programme has already attracted attention on both sides of the Atlantic and dramatic preview clips released earlier this week gave a hint of what the trio will be talking about.

The show, called Oprah with Meghan and Harry, was originally billed as a 90-minute programme, but it has been extended to run for two hours.

It is being produced by Winfrey’s Harpo network and will be shown on CBS in the US on Sunday 7 March.

In a particularly revealing moment, Harry revealed that he will always love his father, Prince Charles, but he is “disappointed” by him. As for his brother, Prince William, Harry said he “loves him to bits” but “we’re on different paths.”

Harry started out by saying they had never planned to make the Netflix and Spotify deals, but the royal family “literally cut me off financially” in the first quarter of 2020.

He said he thought his mother “saw it coming.”

“I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her going through this process by herself. It’s been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we have each other,” Harry said.

As for the rest of his family, he said he has spoken more this year to his grandmother than he has “in many, many years” and they have a “really good relationship.”

When asked about his father, Harry paused. He said his father is now taking his calls, but “there’s a lot to work through there.”

Harry said “much will continue” to be said about his relationship with William.

“As I’ve said before, I love William to bits he’s my brother and we’ve been through hell together and we have a shared experience but we’re on different paths,” Harry said.

Harry said he “never going to share” more about the conversation about Archie’s skin tone, only saying it was “right at the beginning.”

    How Did We Get Here

‘I Was Desperate’: Prince Harry And Meghan’s Bombshell Interview

Normal protocol for someone as high up in the royal family as Harry would be to live in the UK forever, as a working member of the royal family — attending hospital openings, museum exhibits, board meetings, playing bingo with pensioners and generally just supporting Queen Elizabeth II in a quiet yet respectful way. Realistically, with his father Charles, brother William, and William and Kate’s three kids all in line to the throne before him, Harry was never going to rule. And as he made clear to Winfrey, he felt unsupported, and even endangered, by family decisions that he felt were not helping his own family.

Entertain your brain with the coolest news from streaming to superheroes, memes to video games.

You may have heard that Meghan and Harry moved first to Canada, then to California in 2020. In February 2021, after a year trial, Buckingham Palace announced the couple would not return as working members of the royal family, through they would remain “much loved.”

And Meghan and Harry have been busy. In 2020, they signed a deal to develop programming for Netflix, and they’ve also signed a deal with Spotify to produce and host their own podcasts. They’re residing in America now, and Americans gonna America. So the Oprah interview, while not something a regular royal would do, fits right in with what a Hollywood celebrity would take on.
